I was so excited to be one of only 2500 travel agents to sail on the agent Inaugural of the Oasis of the Seas on November 19, 2009 for three nights. This is the largest and most phenomenal cruise ship in the world. This fantastic ship had three distinct "neighborhoods", including Central Park (yes it's just like the real Central Park) with over 10,000 flowers and trees, lovely, classy pubs and restaurants and outdoor cafes and more. Also, the "Boardwalk" neighborhood with an honest to goodness, life-sized, hand-painted carousel (yes you can ride it!), ice cream and donut shops, a Seafood restaurant, Johnny Rocket's diner, the signature rock climbing wall, the HUGE closed circuit TV screens and an "Aqua Theater" with a 17 foot deep pool with high divers putting on a thrilling show. The "Royal Promenade" neighborhood is the most centrally located and has a mezzanine level that overlooks the space below plus the "Rising Tide" bar, which actually moves up and down three decks. There are also enough restaurants and shops, including Sorrentos Pizza (yes it's free!) to keep everyone happy. Another first in the cruise industry--balcony staterooms that over look the Central Park and Boardwalk (inside of the ship) but with open air above you. They are phenomenal. Of course for those of you who love the serenity of the ocean, they still have the balconies overlooking the sea as well.
You can not even imagine anything so fantasic as this ship. From the "neighborhoods" to the innovative new staterooms with balconies looking down on the inside of the ship, to the stunning restaurants and bars, the magnificent Spa and gym, the suites with balcony views of the Aqua theater, Central Park and the Boardwalk, not to mention the water parks, surfing wave pools and ice skating, the Oasis of the Seas is simply the most exciting cruise ship in the world.
I took over 300 photos in just three days and of course it is not possible to put them all on this site. You will just have to come by my office to see them and we can book you on this amazing ship at the same time. Of course if the Oasis of the Seas is just TOO much for you, we can always put you on the Freedom or the Liberty instead!
